The Third Day!!

Hello every one!
As usual the opening sentence would be It's been quite a long time and the reason being midsems.Well what's there about it??Why can't I focus on anything else other than midsems during midsems? Why so serious??(I wish that would be true!!)
Although they constitute just 12 days of an year,2x3days for eaach semester(This doesn't include endsems, quizzes, lab exams, and vivas if they exist since it takes another life time to describe all of them) God only knows how much valuble time they take away from our life. They creep into everything we do.No matter what we do we have to keep in mind of them.
Some geeks(they are called 'maggus' here) may say that go to all the classes everyday,do all the assignments and also don't sleep in the classes, attend all the tutorials even the optional ones, and again practice all the assignments for the mid sems then you don't have any problem at all.Well...almost forgot to mention whats the 'problem'??.The problem is if we don't perform well  in the first mids the effect is carried on the second mids and we have to torment ourselves for the end sem, finally ending up as a **pointer. This doesn't end here.We are then 'branded' as **pointers for the remaining semesters and this continues till the end unless something miracle happens followed by not getting shortlisted for highly paid jobs.
Well then why can't we do well??? If the answer is  that simple we would not need a professional counsellor during xams!!!!(Maggus can comfortably ignore this question)Its hard to imagine the amount of pressure that will be released on the 3rd day of the mids and excitement to read the gtalk status messages!
Here is a classic example to describe how the situation would be after the pressure in the cooker is lost.I had a lab xam on the day after the completion of midsems. In other words I have to study on the third day while others were enjoying. This actually propelled me not to study(IPL was the second reason).
When I saw the question paper the next day I didn't even have the slightest regret of not preparing and the reason being very clear! One of the questions was to describe how a particlar kind of bacteria grows under certain conditions and doesn't under certain conditions.
My answer was "The bac grows since it grows and hence there are conditions to grow it grows and it doesn't grow because it is not favourable. Finally it grows when it grows and doesn't when it doesn't."Had it been the same question and the same exam the previous day probably I would have given the correct answer.Since it is after the third day I messed up with it.Any how I messed up with the remaining as well.I am not saying everyone did the same but it happens for most of us with varying extent of disaster.

**didn't reveal the numbers since it really hurts to say one's CPI.
